Internship Description

Construction & Dispute Resolution Intern

Clyde & Co's Doha office is offering a 12-week paid internship in its Construction & Dispute Resolution practice. Based in West Bay, you will gain practical experience in one of Qatar's most active areas of legal practice — construction disputes arising from the country's ongoing infrastructure programme. Interns will assist on real arbitration and adjudication matters under the supervision of experienced practitioners.

Programme Details

  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Location: Clyde & Co, West Bay, Doha
  • Paid internship: Monthly stipend of QAR 6,000-7,000
  • Open to: Final-year law students or recent LLB/LLM graduates

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research on FIDIC contract interpretation and claims under Qatar law
  • Draft chronologies, summaries, and research notes for arbitration proceedings
  • Support the team on QICDRC and ICC arbitrations involving construction disputes
  • Review expert reports and assist with document management on active cases
  • Attend arbitration hearings and client meetings as an observer

Responsibilities

  • Support the construction and dispute resolution team on active matters
  • Complete research assignments and present findings
  • Attend internal training sessions on Qatar construction law
  • Maintain professional standards and meet deadlines
  • Prepare an end-of-internship report summarising learnings

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an LLB, JD, or LLM programme
  • Interest in construction law, dispute resolution, or international arbitration
  • Strong research and writing skills in English
  • Knowledge of FIDIC contracts is desirable but not essential
  • Right to work in Qatar or eligibility for an internship visa
