Nithya Partners, one of Colombo's top-tier corporate law firms, offers a 6-month paid apprenticeship in its Corporate and Commercial department at its Colombo 7 (Cinnamon Gardens) office. This apprenticeship fulfils the mandatory 6-month apprenticeship requirement for admission to the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).

The apprentice will work alongside the firm's leading corporate lawyers on M&A transactions, capital markets work, and corporate restructurings governed by the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007. • Assist with due diligence for M&A transactions and investment advisory mandates
• Draft basic corporate documents including board resolutions and shareholder agreements
• Research corporate law issues under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007 and SEC regulations
• Attend deal closings and observe transaction execution processes
• Prepare regulatory filings for the Registrar of Companies and SEC
• Support the team with document compilation, indexing, and closing set preparation

• LL.B. from a recognised Sri Lankan university or Sri Lanka Law College
• Eligible for the mandatory 6-month BASL apprenticeship
• Strong academic record, particularly in corporate law, commercial law, and securities regulation
• Demonstrated interest in transactional legal practice
• Excellent English drafting and research skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet transaction deadlines
• Commitment to the full 6-month apprenticeship duration
