Energy Law Intern — Legal Department
Qatar Energy offers a 12-week paid internship in its Legal Department for law students and recent graduates interested in energy, oil and gas, and environmental law. Based at Qatar Energy's headquarters in West Bay, Doha, interns will gain unparalleled exposure to legal work supporting the world's largest LNG producer, including the historic North Field Expansion project.
Programme Details
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Location: Qatar Energy Headquarters, West Bay, Doha
- Paid internship: Competitive monthly stipend of QAR 7,000-8,000
- Open to: Law students in their penultimate or final year, or recent graduates
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers on contract reviews for upstream, midstream, and downstream operations
- Conduct legal research on Qatar's energy legislation and environmental regulations
- Review and summarise joint venture agreements, production sharing contracts, and EPC documentation
- Support the team on LNG-related commercial agreements
- Attend internal presentations on the North Field Expansion and Qatar Energy's operational portfolio
Responsibilities
- Support the Legal Department on active matters across business units
- Complete research projects on energy law and regulatory topics
- Attend mentoring sessions with senior legal counsel
- Participate in Qatar Energy's graduate programme activities
- Deliver an end-of-programme presentation on an energy law topic
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed an LLB, JD, or LLM programme
- Interest in energy law, oil and gas, or environmental law
- Strong academic record and legal research skills
- Fluent English required; Arabic advantageous
- Right to work in Qatar (visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates)
