Internship Description

Linklaters Portugal (LLCC) is offering an 18-month Estágio position in its Banking & Structured Finance practice on Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo in Lisbon. This is an exceptional opportunity for graduates registered for the Estágio da Ordem dos Advogados to experience cross-border banking transactions at a Magic Circle firm, gaining exposure to leveraged finance, securitisations, and syndicated lending at the highest level of the Portuguese market.

What You Will Do

  • Assist on drafting and reviewing facility agreements, security packages, and ancillary banking documentation under Portuguese law
  • Research Portuguese banking regulation: RGICSF, CIRE, and Banco de Portugal Avisos
  • Support due diligence on Portuguese security interests (hipotecas, penhores sem desapossamento)
  • Prepare condition precedent checklists and closing bibles
  • Participate in Linklaters' global trainee programme and learning sessions

Elegibilidade

  • Licenciatura or Mestrado em Direito from a leading Portuguese university (top quartile academic record)
  • Registered for the Estágio da Ordem dos Advogados
  • Strong English (C1 minimum) — essential for international work
  • Interest in banking and financial services law
  • Duration: 18 months, full-time, with pathway to Associate role
