Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is accepting applications for its September 2027 Training Contract intake at 100 Bishopsgate in the City of London. A training contract at Freshfields is widely recognised as one of the most sought-after in the UK legal profession.

Over two years, trainees complete four six-month seats, with the opportunity to gain experience in corporate M&A, finance, disputes, antitrust, and specialist areas. Training Contract Details

  • Duration: 2-year Training Contract (4 x 6-month seats)
  • Start date: September 2027 intake
  • Location: 100 Bishopsgate, City of London
  • International secondments: Available in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other offices
  • Qualification: High retention rate with multiple practice area options

Eligibility: Open to final-year LLB/GDL students or graduates completing the SQE. Non-law graduates with strong academic credentials are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through four seats across the firm's principal practice areas
  • Contribute to high-profile M&A, finance, disputes, and antitrust matters
  • Draft transactional documents, legal research memoranda, and client correspondence

Requirements

  • On track for or hold a minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline
  • Completion of or enrolment in the SQE, LPC, or equivalent pathway to qualification
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable interest in international commercial law
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Commercial awareness and engagement with current business and legal developments
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
