General Practice Law Intern — GVZH Advocates
GVZH Advocates offers a warranted advocate training placement in its Valletta offices, rotating across the firm's key practice areas — corporate and commercial, real estate, IP, litigation, and employment law. This broad-based internship is designed for LL.D. students who want to experience multiple practice areas before specialising, providing the diverse exposure that defines a well-rounded Maltese avukat.
The intern will work on live matters across departments, attend court hearings, client meetings, and regulatory proceedings, and build practical legal skills under the supervision of experienced advocates. GVZH's mid-size structure ensures interns receive meaningful responsibility and direct mentorship throughout the placement.
Responsibilities
- Rotate across corporate, real estate, IP, litigation, and employment practice groups
- Attend court hearings before the Civil Court (First Hall) and Court of Appeal
- Draft legal memoranda, correspondence, and basic contractual documentation
- Assist with company formations, property due diligence, and trade mark filings
- Research legal questions and prepare case summaries for senior advocates
- Attend client meetings and gain exposure to client management under supervision
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the LL.D. programme at the University of Malta
- Strong academic record across core subjects (commercial law, obligations, property law, civil procedure)
- Interest in developing a broad legal practice foundation before specialisation
- Good English and Maltese drafting skills
- Organised and able to manage work across multiple practice areas simultaneously
- Available for a minimum 6-month placement
