Hospitality Legal Internship — Rogers Group (Rose Hill)
Rogers Group offers a 12-month paid legal internship supporting its hospitality and real estate operations from its Rose Hill administrative offices. Rose Hill — part of the Quatre Bornes-Rose Hill urban corridor in the Upper Plaines Wilhems district — provides a Mauritius experience beyond the Port Louis/Ebene financial centres, with proximity to the island's interior commercial towns.
The intern will support Rogers' New Mauritius Hotels (Beachcomber Resorts) and Les Salines development legal work, including hotel management contracts, IRS/RES property documentation, Tourism Authority compliance, and commercial contracts. The role provides practical exposure to tourism and hospitality law — Mauritius's second-largest economic sector — from within one of the island's most iconic business groups.
Responsibilities
- Review and draft basic hotel management and vendor contracts under supervision
- Research tourism regulatory issues under the Tourism Authority Act 2006
- Assist with IRS/RES property documentation and sales compliance
- Support the legal team with contract management and filing administration
- Attend legal department meetings and hospitality sector briefings
- Prepare research memoranda on tourism and real estate regulatory developments
Requirements
- LL.B. from the University of Mauritius or equivalent recognised institution (final year or graduate)
- Interest in hospitality, tourism, and real estate law
- Basic knowledge of the Tourism Authority Act 2006 and property law
- English and French proficiency required
- Willingness to be based in Rose Hill for the full internship period
- Organised and self-motivated
- No prior professional legal experience required
