In-House Legal Intern — iGaming — Betsson Group
Betsson Group, one of the world's leading online gaming companies headquartered in Ta' Xbiex, Malta, offers an in-house legal internship within its Legal and Compliance team. Betsson holds MGA licences and operates across 20+ regulated jurisdictions — giving interns exposure to multi-jurisdictional gaming legal work in a fast-paced corporate environment.
The intern will support the legal team on commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, GDPR matters, and responsible gambling obligations. This placement provides the in-house corporate perspective on iGaming law — complementing private practice internships and giving a complete picture of Malta's gaming legal ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reviewing and drafting commercial agreements (supplier, affiliate, platform contracts)
- Support MGA compliance and regulatory reporting activities
- Research regulatory developments in Betsson's key licensed jurisdictions
- Assist with GDPR compliance and data subject request processing
- Support responsible gambling programme documentation and review
- Attend internal cross-functional meetings with product, marketing, and compliance teams
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the LL.D. programme or recently graduated from the University of Malta
- Interest in iGaming, technology, and corporate in-house legal practice
- Basic understanding of the Gaming Act (Cap. 583) and GDPR
- Strong English communication and drafting skills
- Proactive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced international environment
- Available for a minimum 3-month placement
