Internship Description
The Protimonopolný úrad SR (Antimonopoly Office) offers an internship in its Competition Law Division. This is an exceptional opportunity for law students to gain firsthand experience in public competition law enforcement, including merger review, cartel investigations, and abuse of dominance proceedings.
The PMÚ is Slovakia's national competition authority and participates in the European Competition Network. Interns will work alongside experienced competition lawyers on real cases, attending oral hearings and contributing to the analysis of complex market competition issues.
Responsibilities
Assist with analysis of merger notifications and market assessments. Support cartel investigation case teams with document review. Research ECN best practices and CJEU competition case law. Help prepare decision drafts and statements of objections. Attend oral hearings and internal case conferences. Maintain competition case databases and library resources.
Requirements
Currently enrolled at a Slovak law faculty. Strong interest in competition law and EU law. Knowledge of Zákon o ochrane hospodárskej súťaže and EU competition regulations. Slovak citizen. Fluent Slovak and English. Available for 3-6 months.
