Labour Law Trainee — HBS Law, Daun Penh, Phnom Penh

HBS Law is offering a trainee position in its Labour and Employment practice. You will assist with labour compliance matters, employment contract drafting, and dispute resolution under the Labour Law (1997), gaining practical experience in one of Cambodia's most active areas of legal practice.

With Cambodia's garment sector and growing service economy generating significant labour law demand, this traineeship provides a strong foundation for a career in employment law.

• Assist with drafting employment contracts and internal work rules (règlement intérieur)
• Research labour law issues including overtime, leave entitlements, and severance calculations
• Support lawyers in preparing submissions to the Arbitration Council
• Attend Arbitration Council hearings and court proceedings as an observer
• Help maintain the firm's database of labour law precedents and Arbitration Council awards
• Assist with preparing training materials on Cambodian labour law for client workshops

• Final-year law student or recent graduate from a recognised Cambodian university
• Interest in labour law, employment rights, and industrial relations
• Basic knowledge of the Labour Law (1997) and minimum wage regulations
• Proficient in Khmer and English
• Interest in the garment/textile sector and factory compliance
• Ability to commit to a minimum 3-month traineeship
