Internship Description
The Javna agencija RS za varstvo konkurence (AVK — Slovenian Competition Protection Agency) offers a Legal Internship in our enforcement division in Ljubljana. This internship provides rare direct exposure to competition law enforcement from the regulator's perspective, including merger review, cartel investigations, and market analysis.
You will work with experienced competition law officers on real enforcement cases under the Zakon o preprečevanju omejevanja konkurence (ZPOmK-2, Competition Act) and EU competition law. The internship provides excellent preparation for careers in competition law practice, regulatory agencies, or EU institutions.
Responsibilities
Assist competition law officers with case research and market analysis. Help review merger notifications and prepare assessment summaries. Research EU and comparative competition law for enforcement proceedings. Draft preliminary analysis memoranda on potential competition concerns. Attend internal case discussions and European Competition Network meetings.
Requirements
Current enrollment in or recent completion of Magister prava at a recognized university. Strong interest in competition law, EU law, or economic regulation. Knowledge of ZPOmK-2 (Competition Act) and EU competition law fundamentals. Proficiency in Slovenian and English. Analytical and quantitative skills.
