Legal Intern - EU & Competition Law

Schoenherr Ljubljana offers a Legal Internship in our EU & Competition Law practice. You will support experienced lawyers on Slovenian and EU competition law matters, gaining exposure to merger control, antitrust enforcement, state aid, and public procurement in a leading international law firm environment.

The internship provides hands-on experience with the Zakon o preprečevanju omejevanja konkurence (ZPOmK-2, Competition Act) and EU competition law, including interaction with AVK (Competition Protection Agency) and European Commission proceedings. Schoenherr's CEE network offers unique exposure to multi-jurisdictional competition law practice.

Research Slovenian and EU competition law for ongoing cases and advisory mandates. Assist with preparing merger notification filings for AVK and the European Commission. Draft memoranda on antitrust compliance, state aid, and public procurement matters. Monitor legislative developments in EU competition law and digital markets regulation. Support the team with document review and case preparation for enforcement proceedings.

Current enrollment in or recent completion of Magister prava at a recognized university. Strong interest in competition law or EU law. Knowledge of ZPOmK-2 and EU competition law fundamentals (Articles 101-102 TFEU). Proficiency in Slovenian and English; German is a strong advantage. Analytical mindset and strong research skills.
