Internship Description
Legal Intern – Financial Regulation
The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS / 금융감독원) is offering Legal Internships at its Seoul headquarters. This government internship provides 법학전문대학원 students with experience in financial regulation, securities enforcement, and supervisory policy — working inside Korea's integrated financial supervisor.
Program Details
- Duration: 4-8 weeks (summer session preferred)
- Compensation: Paid — government intern stipend
- Eligibility: 2nd or 3rd year 법학전문대학원 students interested in financial law and regulation
What You Will Do
- Assist the Capital Markets Supervision Department with review of securities filings and disclosure compliance
- Research regulatory issues under the 자본시장법 (Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act)
- Support investigation teams reviewing potential market manipulation and insider trading cases
- Attend FSS internal seminars on fintech regulation, digital asset supervision, and ESG disclosure policy
- Draft comparative regulatory analysis memoranda on financial supervisory frameworks in the US (SEC), UK (FCA), and Japan (JFSA)
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Korean 법학전문대학원
- Coursework or interest in securities law, banking law, or financial regulation
- Knowledge of 자본시장법 fundamentals; CPA or CFA preparation is a plus
- English proficiency for international regulatory research; Korean citizenship required
