Internship Description

Legal Intern – Financial Regulation

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is offering a 3-month legal internship within its Legal Department at 10 Shenton Way. This programme provides law students with unique exposure to financial regulation, central banking law, and policy development at Singapore's integrated financial regulator.

Programme Highlights
  • Assist with legal research on banking, insurance, securities, and payments regulation
  • Support the drafting and review of MAS regulations, guidelines, and consultation papers
  • Research comparative regulatory frameworks across ASEAN and international jurisdictions
  • Attend internal policy discussions and inter-departmental meetings on regulatory developments
  • Gain exposure to emerging areas such as digital payment tokens, DeFi regulation, and AI governance in finance
Requirements
  • Current law student at NUS, SMU, SUSS, or an overseas law school (penultimate or final year preferred)
  • Strong academic record with interest in financial regulation, fintech, or public law
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Singapore citizen or permanent resident
  • Available for a 3-month commitment

This is a paid internship. A monthly allowance is provided in accordance with public sector internship guidelines.
