Internship Description
Tinoco, Travieso, Planchart & Núñez offers a legal internship in its Intellectual Property practice in Caracas. Interns will gain hands-on experience with trademark prosecution, IP enforcement, and technology licensing at one of Venezuela's leading IP practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with trademark and patent searches at SAPI and international databases
- Draft trademark applications, office action responses, and opposition briefs
- Research Venezuelan IP legislation and SAPI administrative procedures
- Support the team with IP portfolio management and renewal tracking
- Prepare case summaries and research memoranda on IP enforcement issues
Responsibilities
- Process trademark and patent filing documentation
- Assist with IP due diligence for corporate transactions
- Attend SAPI hearings and proceedings as an observer
- Participate in firm-wide IP training sessions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in final two years of law school (Derecho) at a Venezuelan university
- Interest in intellectual property, technology, or innovation law
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
- Familiarity with SAPI procedures an advantage
