Legal Intern – IP & Technology at Hogan Lovells Warsaw (Kraków Desk)
Hogan Lovells is offering a legal internship in Intellectual Property & Technology, based at our Kraków desk operating from the High5ive complex on ul. Pawia near Kraków Główny railway station. Kraków's vibrant technology scene — home to Comarch, ESET, and numerous startups in the Kraków Technology Park — makes it an ideal location for IP & Technology legal work.
About the Internship
Over 3-6 months, you will support the IP & Technology team on matters including trade mark prosecution before the Urząd Patentowy RP and EUIPO, technology contract drafting, and data protection compliance under RODO (GDPR). Tasks include conducting prior art and trade mark searches, assisting with IP due diligence, drafting technology agreements (NDA, SaaS, licensing), and researching data protection issues.
Kraków's position as Poland's second-largest legal market and its concentration of tech companies provide excellent exposure to cutting-edge IP and technology law matters. The Hogan Lovells global platform offers additional opportunities for cross-border IP work.
Duration & Compensation
This is a paid internship lasting 3-6 months with flexible start dates. Part-time arrangements available for students at Uniwersytet Jagielloński (UJ) or other Kraków universities. Competitive monthly stipend provided.
Responsibilities
- Conduct trade mark and patent searches using Urząd Patentowy RP and EUIPO databases
- Assist with drafting technology contracts: NDAs, licensing agreements, SaaS terms
- Support RODO/GDPR compliance projects including data mapping and DPA review
- Conduct IP due diligence for M&A transactions involving technology companies
- Research developments in Polish and EU IP, technology, and data protection law
- Prepare internal briefing notes and research memos on assigned topics
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in 3rd-5th year of magister prawa studies, preferably at UJ or another top Polish university
- Interest in intellectual property, technology law, or data protection
- Basic knowledge of Prawo własności przemysłowej, Ustawa o prawie autorskim, or RODO
- Good English (B2+) — essential for international IP work
- Tech-savvy with interest in digital innovation and emerging technologies
- Available for minimum 3 months
