Legal Intern — Summer Programme — Petronas
Petronas is offering summer legal internship positions for law students at its Legal Division headquarters in the Petronas Twin Towers, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. This is a pre-chambering internship designed to give law students practical exposure to in-house legal work at one of the world's largest oil and gas companies before they sit for the CLP examination.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Legal Division on corporate governance, contract review, and regulatory compliance matters
- Conduct legal research on oil and gas law, corporate law, and international trade regulations
- Attend internal meetings and observe legal advisory sessions with business units
- Assist in reviewing production sharing contracts, joint venture agreements, and procurement documents
- Prepare research memoranda and presentations on current legal issues affecting the energy sector
- Participate in Petronas's intern development programme including networking sessions and site visits
Duration
3 months (June to August). This is a pre-CLP internship, not a chambering position. Paid internship with a monthly allowance.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an LL.B. programme at a recognised Malaysian or overseas university (penultimate or final year preferred)
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent academic standing
- Strong interest in corporate law, energy law, or international transactions
- Excellent English communication and research skills
- Malaysian citizen or permanent resident
- Available for the full 3-month summer internship period
- Prior CLP examination not required (this is a pre-qualifying internship)
