Legal Intern – Trade Finance
United Overseas Bank (UOB) is offering a 3-month legal internship within its Group Legal division at UOB Plaza, 80 Raffles Place. This programme focuses on trade finance legal support, giving law students exposure to documentary credits, bank guarantees, supply chain financing, and ASEAN cross-border trade regulatory frameworks.
Programme Highlights
- Assist the trade finance legal team with review and drafting of letters of credit, bank guarantees, and trade finance documentation
- Research UCP 600, URDG 758, and other ICC trade finance rules applicable to UOB's products
- Support regulatory research on MAS sanctions compliance, AML/CFT requirements for trade finance, and cross-border regulatory issues
- Assist with vendor contract reviews, correspondent banking agreements, and trade platform documentation
- Gain exposure to UOB's ASEAN cross-border trade finance operations and digital trade platforms
Requirements
- Current law student at NUS, SMU, SUSS, or an overseas law school (penultimate or final year preferred)
- Strong academic record with interest in banking, trade finance, or international trade law
- Excellent research and legal writing skills
- Familiarity with international trade law concepts is preferred
- Available for a 3-month commitment
This is a paid internship. A monthly allowance is provided for the duration of the programme.
