Legal Internship — Nepal Telecom (Pokhara)
Nepal Telecom (Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited), Nepal's largest telecommunications provider, offers a 6-month paid internship in its Western Region legal operations based in Pokhara — Nepal's tourism capital and the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit. This internship provides telecommunications law exposure in one of Nepal's most scenic and rapidly developing cities.
The intern will assist Nepal Telecom's regional legal team with commercial contracts, vendor management, right-of-way agreements for infrastructure deployment, and basic regulatory compliance with the Telecommunications Act 2053. Pokhara's growing economy — driven by tourism, aviation, and regional commerce — provides a dynamic context for telecommunications legal work outside the Kathmandu Valley.
Responsibilities
- Review and draft basic commercial contracts and vendor agreements under supervision
- Research telecommunications regulatory issues under the Telecommunications Act 2053
- Assist with right-of-way documentation for tower and fibre-optic infrastructure
- Support the regional legal team with contract management and filing
- Attend legal department meetings and regional coordination sessions
- Prepare research memoranda on telecommunications regulatory developments
Requirements
- LL.B. from a recognised Nepali university (final year or graduate)
- Interest in telecommunications law and government enterprise legal practice
- Basic understanding of the Telecommunications Act 2053 and public procurement
- English and Nepali fluency required
- Willingness to be based in Pokhara for the full 6-month period
- Organised and self-motivated
- No prior professional legal experience required
