Legal Research Intern — Ministry of Justice (Bộ Tư pháp), Ba Dinh District, Hanoi

The Ministry of Justice is offering an unpaid 3-month internship in its Department of International Cooperation. The intern will support research on international legal cooperation, treaty implementation, and comparative law studies.

Programme Details

• Duration: 3 months
• Compensation: Unpaid (transportation and lunch allowance provided)
• Start Date: Rolling applications; next intake Q3 2026
• Eligibility: Open to final-year Cử nhân Luật students or recent graduates with a strong academic record and interest in public international law

This internship provides unique exposure to Vietnam's legislative process and international legal cooperation efforts. A certificate of completion is provided by the Ministry.

• Research and prepare comparative law studies on topics assigned by the Department
• Assist with reviewing Vietnam's implementation of international treaties and conventions
• Support the preparation of documents for international legal cooperation meetings
• Translate legal documents and correspondence between Vietnamese and English
• Attend internal seminars and workshops on international law topics
• Compile databases of international legal instruments relevant to Vietnam

• Final-year Cử nhân Luật student or recent graduate from a recognised Vietnamese university
• Strong interest in public international law, treaty law, or comparative law
• Knowledge of Vietnam's legal system and its international legal obligations
• Fluent Vietnamese; good English (IELTS 6.0+ or equivalent)
• Strong research and writing skills in both Vietnamese and English
• Prior academic research experience is an advantage
