Litigation Internship — Neupane Law Associates
Neupane Law Associates offers a 6-month paid internship in its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice at its Babarmahal, Kathmandu offices. The firm's location near the District Court of Kathmandu (Jilla Adalat) provides interns with exceptional courtroom exposure — a critical foundation for any Advocate (अधिवक्ता) career in Nepal.
Interns will observe and assist with civil, criminal, and property litigation before the District Court, High Court (Uchcha Adalat), and the Supreme Court (Sarbochcha Adalat). The internship provides practical training in the Civil Code (Muluki Dewani Samhita) 2074, the Evidence Act, and Nepal's court procedures — building advocacy skills under the mentorship of Neupane's experienced litigation Advocates.
Responsibilities
- Attend and observe court proceedings at the District Court, High Court, and Supreme Court
- Assist Advocates with preparation of pleadings, motions, and written submissions
- Research legal issues under the Civil Code 2074, Evidence Act, and procedural law
- Draft basic legal documents including affidavits, applications, and court filings
- Accompany senior Advocates to client consultations and case conferences
- Maintain case files and assist with court scheduling and compliance deadlines
Requirements
- LL.B. from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, or equivalent (final year or graduate)
- Strong interest in litigation and courtroom advocacy
- Good academic performance in civil procedure, criminal law, and evidence law
- Basic knowledge of the Civil Code 2074 and court procedures
- Nepali fluency required; English proficiency essential
- Commitment to the full 6-month internship duration
- No prior professional legal experience required
