Offshore Funds Pupillage — Appleby Mauritius
Appleby, one of the world's premier offshore law firms, offers a 12-month paid Pupillage in its Investment Funds and Global Business practice at Ebene Cybercity. Appleby's global offshore platform — spanning Bermuda, Cayman, BVI, Jersey, Guernsey, and Seychelles — provides Pupils with an international perspective unavailable at any domestic Mauritius firm.
Pupils will assist with investment fund formation under the Securities Act 2005, GBC licensing, and cross-border structuring using Appleby's multi-jurisdictional capabilities. The Ebene Cybercity training environment, alongside the FSC and major management companies, provides daily immersion in Mauritius's Global Business ecosystem during the formative Pupillage year.
Responsibilities
- Assist Barristers with investment fund formation documentation under the Securities Act 2005
- Research GBC licensing requirements and prepare application documentation
- Draft basic commercial agreements, subscription forms, and compliance documents
- Support cross-border transactions coordinated with Appleby offices globally
- Attend FSC regulatory meetings and industry conferences
- Maintain research files on Mauritius and international fund regulation developments
Requirements
- LL.B. from the University of Mauritius, University of London, or equivalent recognised institution
- Strong academic record with interest in offshore law, fund structuring, and financial services
- Knowledge of the Securities Act 2005 and Financial Services Act 2007
- Interest in international fund structures and cross-border investment
- Excellent English drafting skills; French proficiency advantageous
- Commitment to the full 12-month Pupillage
- No prior professional legal experience required
