Internship Description
Barros & Errazuriz offers a 6-month practica profesional placement in the Energy & Environmental practice for final-year Derecho students. The programme provides hands-on experience in renewable energy project development, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory proceedings before the CNE, SEA, and Tribunales Ambientales.
Practicantes work on live matters including solar and wind farm licensing, mining environmental compliance, and climate change regulatory advisory. The programme includes structured mentorship, attendance at industry seminars, and direct exposure to Chile's energy transition.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with environmental impact assessment (EIA/DIA) review and preparation
- Conducting legal research on energy regulation and Tribunal Ambiental jurisprudence
- Supporting regulatory filings with the CNE, SEA, and Sernageomin
- Reviewing renewable energy PPA terms and project finance documentation
- Preparing internal briefing notes on environmental compliance matters
Requirements
- Final-year Derecho student completing practica profesional
- Enrolled at a recognised Chilean university
- Strong interest in energy, environmental, or natural resources law
- Knowledge of Ley 19.300 (Bases del Medio Ambiente) and DFL 4 de 2006
- English proficiency at B2+ level
