Internship Description

QFC Regulatory & Financial Services Intern

Dentons' Doha office offers an 8-week paid internship in its QFC Regulatory and Financial Services practice. Based in West Bay, you will gain exposure to the Qatar Financial Centre's unique regulatory framework and assist lawyers advising QFC-authorised firms on licensing, compliance, and regulatory matters. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in financial regulation and fintech law.

Programme Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Location: Dentons, West Bay, Doha
  • Paid internship: Monthly stipend of QAR 5,000-6,000
  • Open to: Law students or recent graduates with an interest in financial regulation

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on QFC regulations, QFCRA rules, and comparative international financial regulation
  • Assist with QFC licence applications and regulatory filings
  • Draft client memoranda on regulatory developments and compliance requirements
  • Support the team on AML/CFT advisory matters within the QFC framework
  • Attend training sessions on Qatar's financial regulatory architecture

Responsibilities

  • Support the regulatory practice team on client matters
  • Complete research projects and present findings to the team
  • Attend internal training on QFC regulatory framework
  • Maintain professional standards and time recording
  • Prepare a research memo on a selected QFC regulatory topic

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an LLB, JD, or LLM programme
  • Interest in financial regulation, compliance, or fintech law
  • Strong research and writing skills in English
  • Knowledge of QFC or similar international financial centres (DIFC, ADGM) is a plus
  • Right to work in Qatar or eligibility for an internship visa
