Internship Description

Regulatory Policy Internship — CySEC, Nicosia

CySEC is offering a Regulatory Policy Internship in its Policy Department in Nicosia. You will assist with the development of regulatory policy, EU directive transposition, and public consultation processes for Cyprus's securities regulator.

This is a prestigious government internship offering direct insight into how financial regulation is made. Ideal for law graduates with an interest in securities regulation, EU law, and public policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research on EU legislative proposals and their impact on Cyprus securities regulation
  • Support the drafting of public consultation papers and regulatory impact assessments
  • Conduct comparative analysis of regulatory approaches across EU member states
  • Assist with transposition of EU directives into Cyprus law through legislative drafting support
  • Prepare briefing notes on ESMA technical standards and guidance for the CySEC Board
  • Attend internal policy meetings and inter-departmental coordination sessions

Requirements

  • LLB from a recognised university with strong performance in EU law and financial regulation
  • Eligible to register as an Ασκούμενος with the Cyprus Bar Association or recent law graduate
  • Interest in securities regulation, EU financial markets law, and regulatory policy
  • Knowledge of MiFID II, MAR, and the Investment Services Law L.87(I)/2017
  • Fluent Greek and English; strong policy analysis and writing skills
  • Ability to synthesise complex regulatory material into clear summaries
