Regulatory Research Intern — National Bank of Cambodia, Phnom Penh

The National Bank of Cambodia is offering a research internship in its Legal Department. You will assist with legal research on banking regulation, payment systems law, and central bank governance, supporting the NBC's role as Cambodia's financial sector regulator.

This is an exceptional opportunity to learn the inner workings of a central bank and contribute to the development of Cambodia's financial regulatory framework.

• Conduct comparative legal research on banking regulations in ASEAN jurisdictions
• Assist with drafting internal legal memoranda and policy briefs
• Support the review and translation of NBC Prakas and circulars
• Research international standards (Basel, FATF, IOSCO) for potential adoption in Cambodia
• Assist with the NBC's regulatory database and legal document management
• Attend internal seminars and training sessions on financial regulation topics

• Currently enrolled in a law or economics programme at a recognised Cambodian or international university
• Interest in financial regulation, central banking, or public law
• Basic knowledge of the Law on the Organisation and Functioning of the NBC and the Law on Banking and Financial Institutions
• Strong research and analytical writing skills in Khmer and English
• Knowledge of French is an advantage
• Ability to commit to a minimum 3-month placement
