Regulatory Research Intern — State Bank of Vietnam, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi

The State Bank of Vietnam is offering an unpaid 3-month internship in its Legal Department. The intern will support research on banking regulations, international regulatory standards, and legislative drafting.

Programme Details

• Duration: 3 months
• Compensation: Unpaid (transportation allowance provided)
• Start Date: Rolling applications; next intake Q3 2026
• Eligibility: Open to final-year Cử nhân Luật students or recent graduates with an interest in financial regulation and banking law

This internship offers rare access to Vietnam's central bank and its regulatory processes. Interns receive a certificate of completion from the SBV.

• Research international banking regulatory standards (Basel, FATF) for comparative analysis
• Assist with reviewing and summarising draft circulars and regulatory documents
• Compile databases of SBV circulars, decisions, and guidance documents
• Support the preparation of regulatory impact assessments for proposed regulations
• Attend internal training sessions on banking regulation and central banking
• Assist with administrative tasks and document management in the Legal Department

• Final-year Cử nhân Luật student or recent graduate from a recognised university
• Interest in banking regulation, monetary policy, or financial law
• Basic knowledge of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2010 and Law on Credit Institutions 2024
• Fluent Vietnamese; intermediate English for reviewing international regulatory materials
• Analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research
