Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer offers a 12-month paid Tập sự programme in its Banking and Finance practice in Ho Chi Minh City. You will work alongside internationally trained lawyers on landmark lending and project finance transactions.

Programme Details

• Duration: 12 months (mandatory Tập sự period)
• Compensation: Paid — Magic Circle-standard monthly allowance
• Start Date: Rolling applications; next intake Q3 2026
• Eligibility: Open to final-year Cử nhân Luật students or recent graduates who have completed the Lawyer Training Course at the Judicial Academy

Freshfields' trainees are exposed to some of the most sophisticated transactions in Vietnam. The programme includes secondment opportunities to the firm's regional offices in Singapore and Hong Kong.

• Assist with drafting and reviewing loan facility agreements and security documentation
• Conduct legal research on SBV regulations and banking law developments
• Support due diligence exercises on banking and finance transactions
• Attend transaction closings and observe negotiation sessions
• Maintain precedent databases and transaction trackers
• Participate in Freshfields' global Tập sự training programme and regional workshops

• Completed or completing Cử nhân Luật from a recognised Vietnamese university
• Completed the Lawyer Training Course at the Judicial Academy
• Strong interest in banking, project finance, or capital markets
• Knowledge of the Law on Credit Institutions 2024 and Civil Code 2015
• Excellent Vietnamese and English (IELTS 7.0+ or equivalent preferred)
• Strong academic record from a top Vietnamese law school
