Technology & Telecom Law Internship — Dialog Axiata (Kandy)

Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka's largest telecommunications provider, offers a 6-month paid internship in its Central Region legal operations based in Kandy. Dialog's island-wide network infrastructure and regional offices provide an excellent opportunity for law graduates to gain telecommunications law exposure outside Colombo.

The intern will assist Dialog's regional legal team with commercial contracts, vendor management, tower infrastructure agreements, and regulatory compliance with the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act. Based in Kandy — Sri Lanka's second city with a growing tech ecosystem — this role offers exposure to telecommunications regulation, consumer protection, and the expansion of digital services across the central highlands. This internship may fulfil the mandatory 6-month BASL apprenticeship requirement.

• Review and draft basic commercial contracts and vendor agreements under supervision
• Research telecommunications regulatory issues under the Telecommunications Act and TRCSL directives
• Assist with data protection and privacy compliance research
• Support the legal team with contract management and filing systems
• Attend legal department meetings and cross-functional project discussions
• Prepare research memoranda on emerging digital economy legislation

• LL.B. from a recognised Sri Lankan university or Sri Lanka Law College (final year or graduate)
• Eligible for the mandatory 6-month BASL apprenticeship
• Strong interest in technology law, telecommunications, and digital commerce
• Basic understanding of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act and TRCSL framework
• English fluency required; strong written communication skills
• Tech-savvy with interest in digital transformation and innovation
• Commitment to the full 6-month internship duration
