Internship Description
Technology & Telecom Legal Intern — Smart Axiata Co., Ltd., Phnom Penh
Smart Axiata is offering a legal internship in its in-house legal department. You will gain exposure to telecommunications regulation, commercial contracts, and data privacy law at Cambodia's leading mobile operator.
This internship is ideal for a tech-savvy law student interested in the intersection of law and technology. Smart Axiata's legal team handles a diverse portfolio of matters spanning regulatory compliance, commercial deals, and digital innovation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and NDAs
- Conduct research on telecommunications regulations, TRC Prakas, and data privacy developments
- Support the legal team on regulatory filings and licence compliance matters
- Help maintain the contract management system and track renewal deadlines
- Assist with preparing legal training materials for business teams
- Attend cross-functional meetings and gain exposure to in-house legal operations
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a law programme
- Interest in technology law, telecommunications regulation, and data privacy
- Basic knowledge of the Telecommunications Law (2015) and Civil Code contract provisions
- Proficient in Khmer and English
- Tech-savvy with an interest in digital economy and mobile technology
- Ability to commit to a minimum 3-month internship
