Position Overview
Job Description
Iberdrola is seeking an Abogado Senior for Energy Regulation at its global headquarters at Plaza Euskadi 5 in Bilbao's modern Abandoibarra waterfront, overlooking the Nervión estuary and adjacent to the Guggenheim Museum. You will advise on the regulatory framework governing Spain's electricity and gas markets, renewable energy incentives, and grid access, interacting with the CNMC, MITECO (Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica), and AELEC.
Responsabilidades Principales
- Advise on Spanish energy regulation under the Ley 24/2013 del Sector Eléctrico and the PNIEC (Plan Nacional Integrado de Energía y Clima 2021-2030)
- Handle grid access and connection proceedings before the CNMC and REE (Red Eléctrica de España)
- Advise on renewable energy incentive schemes, auctions (subastas de renovables), and PPA regulatory frameworks
- Represent Iberdrola in regulatory proceedings before the Audiencia Nacional (Sala de lo Contencioso-Administrativo)
- Monitor EU energy regulation: Clean Energy Package, EU ETS, and Fit for 55 legislation
Requisitos
- Licenciado/Graduado en Derecho; Máster en Derecho de la Energía or regulatory law preferred
- Colegiado at the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Bizkaia or equivalent
- 6-9 years PQE in energy regulation, administrative law, or utilities
- Experience with CNMC and Audiencia Nacional proceedings
- Fluent English and Spanish; Euskera valued
