Legal Counsel — ESG & Environmental Compliance

Iberdrola's legal department at Plaza Euskadi 5 in Bilbao is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its ESG and Environmental Compliance team. You will advise on sustainability reporting under the CSRD, environmental permitting for wind and solar projects, and Iberdrola's industry-leading ESG governance framework, supporting the company's position as one of the world's greenest energy companies.

Responsabilidades Principales

• Advise on environmental impact assessments (EIA) and permitting under the Ley 21/2013 de Evaluación Ambiental for wind farm and solar plant projects across Spain
• Ensure compliance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Spain's Ley 11/2018 on non-financial reporting
• Handle environmental disputes and administrative proceedings before the Tribunal Superior de Justicia del País Vasco
• Advise on EU Taxonomy classification of Iberdrola's green investments and sustainable finance instruments
• Support ESG due diligence for international acquisitions and project developments

Requisitos

• Graduado en Derecho; Máster de Acceso; specialisation in environmental or EU law preferred
• Colegiado at the Colegio de la Abogacía de Bizkaia or equivalent
• 3-6 years PQE in environmental law, ESG, or energy regulatory
• Knowledge of EU Taxonomy, CSRD, and Spanish environmental legislation
• Fluent English; Euskera a plus
