Associate — International Arbitration

Mannheimer Swartling's Dispute Resolution group in Stockholm is seeking an Associate to join its top-ranked international arbitration practice. Stockholm is one of the world's leading arbitration seats, and you will handle arbitrations administered by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), ICC, and ICSID, working from the firm's Norrlandsgatan 21 offices near the SCC headquarters at Brunnsgatan 2.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare submissions, witness statements, and expert evidence for SCC and ICC arbitrations seated in Stockholm
• Research Swedish substantive law, CISG, and international investment treaty standards
• Assist in hearings before SCC tribunals at Münchenbryggeriet and other Stockholm venues
• Draft challenge applications and enforcement petitions under the Swedish Arbitration Act (lag om skiljeförfarande, SFS 1999:116)
• Advise on investor-state disputes and bilateral investment treaty claims

Requirements

• Swedish juristexamen or equivalent LL.M.; 3-5 years PQE in international arbitration or litigation
• Knowledge of the Swedish Arbitration Act (SFS 1999:116), SCC Rules, and ICC Rules
• Experience with document production (IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence)
• Excellent written and oral advocacy in English; Swedish proficiency highly valued
