Associate — Life Sciences & Healthcare

Setterwalls' Malmö office at Stortorget 23 in Malmö's historic city centre is seeking an Associate for its Life Sciences practice. The Malmö-Lund-Copenhagen Medicon Valley region is one of Europe's leading life sciences clusters, home to companies like AstraZeneca, Novo Nordisk, and Lundbeck. You will advise pharmaceutical, medtech, and biotech companies on regulatory compliance, clinical trials, and licensing agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on Läkemedelsverket (Medical Products Agency) regulatory submissions and marketing authorisations
• Draft and negotiate clinical trial agreements, collaboration agreements, and licensing/royalty arrangements
• Handle EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) compliance and CE marking for medtech companies
• Advise on patent strategy, supplementary protection certificates (SPCs), and Bolar exemption under Swedish patent law

Requirements

• Swedish juristexamen; 3-5 years PQE in life sciences, IP, or regulatory
• Understanding of Läkemedelsverket processes and EU pharmaceutical regulations
• Experience with Medicon Valley companies preferred
• Fluent in Swedish and English; Danish an asset
