Position Overview
Job Description
The District seeks a qualified attorney to fill a position within the Office of the General Counsel. The District may fill this position at either the Attorney II or Attorney III level. Appointment will be based upon the selected candidate’s qualifications, depth of directly related professional experience, demonstrated competencies, and the operational needs of the District.
This recruitment is intended to support the District’s broad legal service needs and may involve assignments in areas including contracts, labor and employment, regulatory compliance, procurement, real estate, and public agency law.
Under direction, incumbents perform a broad range of professional legal work of moderate to high complexity on behalf of the District. Incumbents provide legal counsel and representation to District management and staff; prepare and review legal documents and agreements; assist with administrative matters with minimal direction from higher-level legal staff.
Work assignments require discretion, sound judgment, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to independently manage varied legal matters to support efficient operations, legal compliance, and risk mitigation. This is an unrepresented, at-will classification.
