Job Description
Avocat a la Cour – ESG & Sustainable Finance
Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg on Rue Charles Martel is seeking an Avocat a la Cour for its rapidly growing ESG and Sustainable Finance practice. Luxembourg has positioned itself as a European hub for sustainable finance, with the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX) leading in green bond listings and SFDR driving ESG integration across the fund industry.
You will advise asset managers, fund promoters, and issuers on SFDR classification (Article 8 and Article 9 funds), EU Taxonomy alignment, green bond issuance, and the CSRD reporting framework.
What You Will Do
- Advise on SFDR product disclosure requirements for Article 8 and Article 9 funds
- Advise on EU Taxonomy alignment assessments for fund portfolios and corporate activities
- Support green and sustainability-linked bond issuances listed on the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX)
- Advise on CSRD/ESRS sustainability reporting obligations for Luxembourg entities
- Draft ESG-related fund documentation, disclosures, and marketing material reviews
Responsibilities
- Advise fund managers on SFDR classification and disclosure obligations
- Draft ESG fund documentation and pre-contractual disclosures
- Support green bond and sustainability-linked bond issuances
- Advise on EU Taxonomy alignment and CSRD reporting requirements
- Monitor EU sustainable finance regulatory developments and draft client alerts
Requirements
- Admission to the Barreau de Luxembourg as Avocat a la Cour
- Master in Law; specialisation in ESG, Environmental, or Financial Law preferred
- 3-6 years of experience in sustainable finance, fund law, or ESG regulation
- Knowledge of SFDR, EU Taxonomy Regulation, and CSRD/ESRS frameworks
- Fluent in English and French; Dutch or German is an advantage
- Understanding of Luxembourg fund structures and LGX listing requirements
