Job Description

Junior Avocat – Employment & Immigration Law

Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg on Rue Charles Martel is seeking a Junior Avocat for its Employment and Immigration practice. Luxembourg's unique labour market, with over 200,000 cross-border commuters from France, Belgium, and Germany, and a diverse international workforce, creates complex employment and immigration law questions.

You will advise employers on Luxembourg labour law under the Code du Travail, cross-border employment issues, posted workers regulations, and immigration permits for non-EU workers in the financial sector.

What You Will Do

  • Advise on Luxembourg employment law including hiring, dismissals, and collective agreements under the Code du Travail
  • Handle cross-border employment matters involving French, Belgian, and German commuters
  • Advise on work permits and immigration procedures for non-EU/EEA nationals
  • Support restructurings and collective dismissal procedures under Luxembourg law
  • Draft employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and settlement agreements

Responsibilities

  • Support senior lawyers on employment law mandates
  • Draft employment contracts, policies, and legal memoranda
  • Advise on work permit applications and immigration procedures
  • Research Luxembourg and EU employment law matters
  • Assist with Labour Tribunal proceedings and settlement negotiations

Requirements

  • Admission or eligibility for admission to the Barreau de Luxembourg
  • Master in Law from a recognised European university
  • 0-3 years of experience in employment or immigration law
  • Knowledge of the Luxembourg Code du Travail
  • Fluent in English and French; German is highly desirable for cross-border matters
  • Interest in cross-border employment and social security coordination
