Job Description
All applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing and/or preparing an agency's budget the formulation and justification to executive leadership, Office of Management and Budget, and Congress; Directing and/or preparing budget estimates and long-range budget forecasts and ensuring alignment with agency strategic goals; Directing and/or preparing and reviewing monthly status of funds reports and ensuring accurate financial tracking; Briefing senior officials on agency budget status, associated risks, and making recommendations; Directing and/or preparing budget related reports, official memorandums, executive presentations, and briefing senior executives; AND Extensive knowledge of budget concepts including those in other financial disciplines in a federal government setting. Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
