Job Description

The Autoridad del Canal de Panamá (ACP) seeks a Legal Advisor to support Canal operations, transit regulations, and water resource management. The Panama Canal is the country's most strategic asset, and this role ensures all operational decisions comply with the Canal Authority's organic law and international transit treaty obligations.

Responsibilities

Advise on Canal transit regulations, tolls, and scheduling policies. Draft legal opinions on water resource allocation and watershed management. Support procurement and contracting for Canal maintenance projects. Handle disputes with shipping lines regarding transit conditions. Represent the ACP in administrative proceedings and arbitrations.

Requirements

Licenciatura en Derecho. 6+ years of experience in public law, infrastructure, or maritime regulatory work. Knowledge of the ACP Organic Law (Ley Orgánica de la ACP) and Canal transit regulations. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
