Job Description

Samkeppniseftirlitid (the Icelandic Competition Authority) is seeking a Competition Lawyer to investigate anti-competitive conduct, assess merger notifications, and enforce Iceland's competition laws. This role offers the opportunity to shape market regulation in one of the world's most concentrated economies.

Responsibilities

Investigate suspected cartels, abuse of dominance, and anti-competitive agreements. Assess merger notifications and prepare phase I and phase II decisions. Draft enforcement decisions and penalty calculations. Cooperate with EFTA Surveillance Authority and Nordic competition authorities on cross-border cases.

Requirements

Cand.Jur. or LL.M. with focus on competition or EU/EEA law. 3-6 years of experience in competition law, antitrust enforcement, or economic regulation. Knowledge of the Icelandic Competition Act and EEA competition rules. Fluent in Icelandic and English.
