Job Description

Corporate Associate Attorney — Dentons Mauritius

Dentons Mauritius seeks a Corporate Associate Attorney for its Ebene Cybercity office. The firm's Mauritius practice handles a steady flow of cross-border corporate transactions, GBC structuring, and regulatory advisory — leveraging the reach of the world's largest law firm to serve clients investing through Mauritius into India, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Associate will work on company formations under the Companies Act 2001, GBC licensing applications to the FSC, corporate governance advisory, and commercial contract drafting. The role provides exposure to Dentons' global client base while building deep expertise in Mauritius corporate and commercial law — an ideal platform for a Barrister or Attorney seeking international career trajectory from Mauritius.

Responsibilities

  • Draft company formation documents and GBC licensing applications under the Financial Services Act 2007
  • Prepare corporate resolutions, board minutes, and statutory filings with the Registrar of Companies
  • Draft and review commercial contracts, service agreements, and NDAs
  • Support cross-border M&A and investment transactions using Mauritius GBC vehicles
  • Research Mauritius regulatory developments and prepare client alerts
  • Coordinate with Dentons offices globally on multi-jurisdictional corporate mandates

Requirements

  • Barrister or Attorney admitted by the Mauritius Bar Council with 2–5 years' post-admission experience
  • Knowledge of the Companies Act 2001, Financial Services Act 2007, and Mauritius corporate law
  • Experience with GBC formation, licensing, and ongoing compliance
  • Strong contract drafting skills in English
  • Understanding of corporate governance principles and SEM listing requirements
  • LL.B. from a recognised institution with strong academic record
  • Bilingual English and French proficiency preferred
