Job Description
Latvenergo seeks an Environmental & Climate Law Specialist to advise on environmental permitting, emissions compliance, and sustainability reporting obligations. This role supports Latvenergo's transition toward carbon neutrality in line with the European Green Deal.
Responsibilities
Advise on environmental impact assessments and permitting for energy infrastructure projects. Ensure compliance with EU Emissions Trading System obligations. Support sustainability reporting under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Handle environmental liability matters and coordinate with the State Environmental Service.
Requirements
Master's degree in law or environmental science. 3-5 years of experience in environmental law. Knowledge of the Environmental Protection Law, EU ETS regulations, and CSRD reporting requirements. Understanding of renewable energy regulations. Fluent in Latvian and English.
