In-House Counsel — Commercial & Trade Law

Empresas Polar, Venezuela's largest private enterprise, is seeking an In-House Counsel for its Legal Department in Caracas. You will advise on commercial contracts, supply chain legal matters, and trade regulations for the company's food and beverage operations across Venezuela.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate supply agreements, distribution contracts, and procurement documentation
• Advise on compliance with SUNDDE price control regulations and the Fair Prices Law (Ley Orgánica de Precios Justos)
• Handle customs and import/export legal matters for raw materials and finished products
• Advise on trade compliance including CADIVI/CENCOEX foreign exchange allocations for imports
• Manage commercial disputes with suppliers and distributors

• Provide daily legal support to Polar's commercial and procurement teams
• Coordinate with external counsel on complex litigation matters
• Review advertising and labelling compliance under SUNDDE regulations
• Monitor legislative changes affecting the food and beverage industry

• Law degree (Abogado) from a Venezuelan university
• Registered with the Inpreabogado
• 4-6 years post-qualification experience in commercial, trade, or corporate law
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of Venezuelan consumer protection law, SUNDDE regulations, and customs law
