Job Description

Banco G&T Continental, one of Guatemala's leading financial institutions, is seeking an In-House Counsel to support its Corporate Banking division in Guatemala City. You will draft and negotiate commercial loan facilities, structured finance transactions, and corporate guarantee documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate corporate loan agreements, syndicated facilities, and credit lines
  • Review guarantees, pledges, and collateral documentation for corporate lending
  • Advise on regulatory compliance with SIB requirements for corporate banking products
  • Support structured finance and capital markets transactions
  • Coordinate with external counsel on complex multi-jurisdictional financing

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for the corporate banking division
  • Review and standardize lending documentation templates
  • Monitor changes to banking regulations and update internal guidelines
  • Participate in credit committee meetings as legal advisor

Requirements

  • Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales from a recognised university
  • Colegiado activo with the Colegio de Abogados y Notarios de Guatemala
  • 4-6 years experience in banking or corporate law
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Experience with structured finance documentation preferred
