Intellectual Property Associate — Allen & Gledhill Myanmar

Join Allen & Gledhill Myanmar's growing Intellectual Property practice at our Yangon office. With the enactment of the Myanmar Trademark Law 2019, Industrial Design Law 2019, and Patent Law 2019, Myanmar's IP landscape is undergoing significant transformation. This role places you at the forefront of advising clients on the new IP registration regime.

You will handle trademark registrations with the IP Department under the Ministry of Commerce, advise on brand protection strategies, manage IP portfolio audits, and handle enforcement actions against counterfeit goods through customs seizures and civil litigation.

• Handle trademark, patent, and industrial design registration applications
• Advise clients on IP protection strategies under Myanmar's new IP laws
• Conduct IP due diligence for M&A and investment transactions
• Manage trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings
• Coordinate customs recordation for border enforcement measures
• Draft licensing and technology transfer agreements

• LL.B. from a recognized university
• 2-4 years of intellectual property law experience
• Knowledge of Myanmar Trademark Law 2019 and related IP statutes
• Experience with trademark registration and portfolio management
• Understanding of IP enforcement mechanisms in Myanmar
• Strong research and writing skills
• Fluent in Myanmar and English
