Job Description
ARIFA seeks an IP Associate to handle trademark prosecution, patent filings, and IP enforcement across Central America from the firm's Panama City office. Panama serves as a regional hub for IP portfolio management, and the role involves close collaboration with the Dirección General del Registro de la Propiedad Industrial (DIGERPI).
Responsibilities
File and prosecute trademark and patent applications before DIGERPI. Manage regional IP portfolios across Central America. Handle opposition and cancellation proceedings. Draft licensing and technology transfer agreements. Advise clients on IP enforcement strategies and anti-counterfeiting actions.
Requirements
Licenciatura en Derecho. Colegio Nacional de Abogados membership. 3-5 years of IP experience including trademark and patent prosecution. Familiarity with DIGERPI procedures and the Madrid Protocol. Bilingual Spanish/English.
