Job Description

Schoenherr Sofia is recruiting an IP & Technology Associate to support its growing technology and intellectual property practice. The role covers software licensing, data protection, trademark portfolio management, and advising on Bulgaria's expanding tech ecosystem. The successful candidate will work with innovative tech companies and established enterprises navigating digital transformation.

Responsibilities

Advising on trademark registration, protection, and enforcement in Bulgaria and the EU; Drafting and negotiating software licensing, SaaS, and technology transfer agreements; Advising on GDPR compliance and data protection impact assessments; Supporting IP due diligence in M&A transactions; Advising on e-commerce regulations and digital services; Representing clients in IP disputes before Bulgarian courts and the Patent Office; Monitoring developments in EU Digital Strategy legislation and AI regulation.

Requirements

Master's degree in Law with strong interest in IP and technology law; 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property, IT law, or data protection; Knowledge of the Bulgarian Copyright Act, Trademarks and Geographical Indications Act, and GDPR; Experience with software licensing, SaaS agreements, and technology contracts; Familiarity with Bulgarian Patent Office and EUIPO procedures; Fluent English; Analytical mindset and commercial awareness.
