Sorainen Lithuania, a leading Baltic business law firm, is seeking a Junior Associate to join our Data Protection & Technology practice in Vilnius. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified lawyer to build expertise in GDPR compliance, Lithuanian data protection law, and digital regulation.
You will advise Lithuanian and international clients on data processing agreements, privacy impact assessments, and compliance with the Asmens duomenu teisinies apsaugos istatymas (Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data) and GDPR. The role includes interaction with the Valstybine duomenu apsaugos inspekcija (State Data Protection Inspectorate).
Responsibilities
Draft and review data processing agreements and privacy policies for Lithuanian and international clients. Advise on GDPR compliance, including data protection impact assessments (DPIAs). Support clients in responding to Valstybine duomenu apsaugos inspekcija inquiries and investigations. Research emerging EU digital regulation (AI Act, Data Act, Digital Services Act). Assist with cross-border data transfer matters and standard contractual clauses.
Requirements
Teises magistras from a recognized Lithuanian or EU university. 1-2 years of experience in data protection or technology law, or strong academic background. Knowledge of GDPR and the Asmens duomenu teisinies apsaugos istatymas. Understanding of Lithuanian digital governance frameworks. Fluent in Lithuanian and English.
