About the Role

Ali Sharif Zu bi Advocates & Legal Consultants is hiring a Junior Associate for the Intellectual Property practice in Amman. This entry-level role suits newly qualified lawyers who are passionate about trademark, patent, and copyright law in the Jordanian market.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with trademark registration, opposition, and cancellation proceedings before the Industrial Property Protection Directorate
  • Prepare patent filing documentation and coordinate with the Patent Office at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply
  • Research and advise on copyright protection under the Jordanian Copyright Law No. 22 of 1992
  • Conduct IP due diligence for corporate transactions and foreign investment projects
  • Draft cease-and-desist letters, licensing agreements, and IP assignment contracts
  • Monitor IP portfolios for international clients and manage renewal deadlines

Requirements

  • LLB from a recognised Jordanian university (University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, or equivalent)
  • Recently admitted to the Jordan Bar Association or up to 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Interest in intellectual property law, technology law, or media law
  • Strong research and drafting skills in Arabic and English
  • Familiarity with the Paris Convention, TRIPS Agreement, and Madrid Protocol
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
