Job Description
Eesti Pank (Bank of Estonia) is hiring a Junior Legal Adviser to support our Payments & Digital Euro team in Tallinn. You will contribute to the legal framework for the digital euro project and Estonian payment systems oversight.
The role involves advising on the Makseteenuste ja e-raha seadus (Payment Services and E-Money Act), EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2/PSD3), and the proposed Digital Euro Regulation. You will participate in Eurosystem working groups and contribute to shaping the future of European digital payments.
Responsibilities
Provide legal analysis on the digital euro regulatory framework and its implementation in Estonia. Advise on payment systems oversight under the Makseteenuste ja e-raha seadus. Participate in Eurosystem legal working groups on the digital euro project. Draft legal opinions on Estonian payment regulation and instant payments. Monitor EU legislative developments in payment services (PSD3, PSR).
Requirements
Oigusteaduse magister from a recognized university. 1-3 years of experience in payment services law, fintech, or financial regulation. Knowledge of the Makseteenuste ja e-raha seadus and EU payment regulation. Interest in central bank digital currencies and digital payments innovation. Fluent in Estonian and English.
